Reduce

A group of 6 six high school graduates came to discuss their views on Marketing and Consumerism. Some were going on to college, others not; but most saw media manipulation, and the consequences of unmindful consumerism, as a concern. Of the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle; little is available about source reduction. Here's a good place to start.

Reuse

Reuse is more than an environmenally friendly way to get rid of something: it's also a good way to delay, or even negate, the need for new purchases. Reuse programs can provide residents with needed material and create a sense of community. The accompanying text provides problems, ideas, data and solutions from a program that has been active since 1993.

Recycle - Paper

Whenever we hear the word "recycle" we think of paper. Paper makes up 40% of the general waste stream and 70% of the minicipal recycling stream. "Paper Recycling" is an acclaimed production that takes you on an entertaining and informative journey of paper's "grave-to-cradle" transformation from discarded material to reformed product.

Recycle - Glass

Of all the recycling processes, glass is the easiest to understand. "Glass Recycling" was scripted and edited by a former high school teacher who wanted to answer the question, "what happens to those glass containers after they leave your recycling bin."
